A New York couple finds their 8 children in foster care, amid abuse allegations, they took their kids back.
Now the couple faces jail for kidnapping, the entire family faces an uncertain future and the State has
questions to answer.
In the month of September, the word “Mother” flooded headlines across
multiple states to announce, that New York City lost track of eight foster
children in their care, allegedly abducted by their biological parents, Shanel
Nadal, 28, and Nephra Payne, 34, of Queens, NY.
While breaking news broadcasts interrupted regular scheduled programs to
announce the alert, officials wondered how - and the public wondered why?
The children were allegedly snatched from the Forestdale Child Agency, in
Forest Hills Queens, on Sept. 19, at a bi-weekly supervised group-visit with
their parents.
One headline read: “INSANE MOM” - was she?
Women of mythology have slayed dragons, parted seas, and destroyed
whole worlds to save their children, and others of the same myths, have
caused great destruction and despair upon their young.
Although Nadal is incapable of breathing fire; herself a mortal, were her
actions that of a devoted mother or a destructive monster?
Does any parent know what unspeakable act they are capable of committing
while feeling caught in the same situation?
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
Ask any parent what they would do to save their child from harm, and your
probable immediate answer will be ‘anything’, however. Ask for a detailed
description of exactly what they would do, and you may find hesitation.
Although I have heard answers such as jump in front of a train, take a bullet,
dehydrate and give her the last of my water, the astounding answer lies, that
most don’t know what they would do if desperation hit them.
no clue what animalistic or diplomatic instincts would kick in, or which road I would
take.”
As Carl Jung, once wrote, “We wander with human heart through the world.”
And as humans, we possess one innate instinct, if nothing else; serve and protect our
children - be it from the harms of society, or even worse - the hands of one’s own
mother.
SEARCH and RESCUE NYC to PA
The ending to the frantic seven-day search to find the eight small Payne children:
seven boys named Nephra, after their father and a baby girl named Nefertiti, ranging
from ages 11 months to 11 years-old, finally came to a screeching halt, late Monday
evening on Sept. 26..
Alerts of the fugitive couple on the run with their children flooded the news circuits
from NYC to Pennsylvania, and buzzed the wired sky with chatter, with the hope to
enlist the public’s help to find them.
News of the alleged abduction sparking national attention, also oddly focused on the
fact that the seven boys all share the same first name: Nephra. One insensitive poster
wrote on website Femisex.com: “Why do we feel TAXED Enough Already? Because
we are. Is it your job to care for Nephra 1, Nephra 2, Nephra 3, Nephra 4, Nephra 5,
Nephra 6, Nephra 7, and Nefertiti, and the dozens upon dozens of welfare dependent
offspring they will produce? … If each of these 7 rubber-stamped named boys
commits just one crime it is staggering to understand the cost of dealing with this in
the massive government system.”
The fact that each boy has a middle name to differentiate them, did not quiet the
insignificant cackling - The boy’s middle names are: Payne, 11, Ceo, 10, John, 9,
Shalee, 6, Rahsul, 6, Umeek, 5, and Yahmen, 4.
