Dr. Vicki Black

Dr. Black earned her PhD from the University of Georgia where she completed three graduate certificates: American Indian studies, qualitative research and women’s studies. She earned her MSN from Georgia State and her BSN from Brenau University. Her last position was at Northern Arizona University where she was the director of an American Indian nursing program on the Navajo reservation.

Her research interests include educational disparities and health disparities of underserved communities, medically complex children and the foster care system. Dr. Black is a member of several professional organizations, sits on advisory boards and has several publications.

Personally, she and her wife were foster parents for four years and adopted four special needs children.
