Desiree Strange is originally from Dallas, Texas. She was raised in Joshua, Texas after being adopted around the age of 8 by last set of foster parents. Desiree was in the foster care system for 5 years and lived in multiple homes during that time. Desiree has recently graduated from Tarleton State University with her Bachelor of Social Work degree and will begin graduate school in the Fall. Desiree has always had a passion to advocate for youth in the system and those aging out of the system. Her research has focused on college preparation for first generation college students and identifying various barriers encountered when pursuing a college education.
