D. W. Keene

As a former Michigan probation/parole officer and criminal defense attorney, Deborah Winfrey Keene worked one-on-one with thousands of individuals who had been, were, or should have been in foster care. Keene, like many others found that a child’s upbringing can have a significant impact on their later quality of life.

Now retired, Keene lives and writes in Chicago, IL. Devora’s Spring is Keene’s fictional account of a young woman’s struggle through foster care, adult incarceration, and indeed her journey to prove that she is worthy.
