HOLLYWOOD, CA – (September 30, 2019) – Football for Fosters, whose official launch date is October 1, 2019, is a fundraising and educational 501(c)3 program, whose status is pending. It’s where football and entertainment meet foster care and become one. Athletes, and entertainment industry affiliates whose lives have been directly affected by the presence of a foster child, or by their direct experience as a foster child will become Ambassadors to national foster families and contribute to the program.
The goal is to change negative statistics and to make the foster care experience more comfortable for foster children as well as parents. It will be a private foster care authority that has the ability to provide resources to foster children in need of emergency assistance such as those who are “aging out” or who are courageous enough to report abuses.
Funds are raised through the program. Half of the proceeds are awarded in annual grants and the other half are contributed to the development funding of entertainment projects that spotlight foster care experiences that’re pre-selected by the Ambassadors annual ballot voting process. Pre-allocated proceeds from the entertainment projects are also used to replenish the Football for Fosters Program.
