Meet the Man Behind America's #1 Source of Foster Care News and Information

Chris Chmielewski Founder, Owner, and Editor of Foster Focus Magazine

Chris Chmielewski is a visionary entrepreneur who has transformed the landscape of foster care coverage in America. With a resilient spirit and a passion for fostering positive change, he embarked on a remarkable journey that led to the creation of Foster Focus Magazine, the nation's premier foster care publication.

Chris's personal experience in the foster care system began at the tender age of 14, when he became a ward of the state. Growing up as a resourceful and cheerful young man in the "Coal Region" of Pennsylvania, he encountered numerous challenges during his formative years. Despite facing adversity, he displayed an unwavering commitment to self-improvement, working part-time jobs while excelling academically and contributing to his community through journalism.

While in foster care, Chris developed a profound love for journalism, honing his skills as a writer and communicator. He actively participated in school and community newspapers, harnessing the power of storytelling to advocate for the voices of foster youth.

However, just weeks before his high school graduation, Chris aged out of foster care and encountered an unexpected setback: expulsion from school due to a lack of proof of address within the school district. Undeterred by this setback, he persevered with the support of his best friend's family, obtained his GED, and secured admission to college in a matter of days.

Throughout his college years, Chris balanced academics and athletics, playing basketball while pursuing a degree in Communications. Simultaneously, he gained valuable experience working for small publications and advertising agencies, further honing his journalistic talents.

Following his college years, Chris transitioned into the workforce, started a family, and began to nurture the seeds of an idea that had taken root during his time in foster care. Recognizing the scarcity of accessible information about foster care and its lifelong impact, he embarked on an eight-year journey to turn his vision into reality.

In 2011, with a burgeoning family, three children, and eight years of marriage under his belt, Chris seized the moment and launched Foster Focus Magazine (https://www.FosterFocusMag.com). Through unwavering dedication and relentless determination, he positioned the magazine as a paramount resource for foster care news and information in America.

Today, as the Founder, Owner, and Editor of Foster Focus Magazine, Chris Chmielewski continues to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for foster youth nationwide. His remarkable journey from foster care to entrepreneurial success underscores his belief that every child from care possesses the potential to achieve greatness. Chris's engaging storytelling and charismatic speaking style have made him a sought-after speaker, focusing on the entrepreneurial skills foster youth acquire through their unique experiences.

With a commitment to fostering awareness, empowerment, and change within the foster care community, Chris Chmielewski stands as a testament to the transformative power of determination, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of one's dreams.
